On April 23, 2012, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (“NERC”) announced that Charles A. Berardesco will serve as its General Counsel starting on July 2, 2012.Before coming to NERC, Berardesco worked at Constellation Energy where he served in various roles including the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Legal Adviser to the Board of Directors.   Berardesco began working at Constellation Energy in 2003.  Prior to joining Constellation, Berardesco worked in several legal and executive positions including Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for Fusara, a consortium for AIG, Kemper, and Prudential.  Berardesco was also the former Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for HCIA, a health-care information company. 

NERC’s current General Counsel, David Cook, will continue to work part-time at NERC after Berardesco assumes his position in order to transition the role.
