On March 4, 2014, FERC announced an upcoming technical conference on the recent revisions to the Electric Quarterly Report (“EQR”) filing process.  At the technical conference FERC staff will demonstrate and discuss the two new options for filing EQRs before the system goes “live” and public and non-public utilities are required to file their EQRs,  in accordance with FERC’s revised deadlines (see March 3, 2014 edition of the WER).

In Order No. 770, FERC revised the EQR filing process, eliminating filing through FERC-distributed software and introducing a web-based approach that allows users to file directly through FERC’s website.  The new approach involves two options: (1) filing through FERC’s website; or (2) filing in an Extensible Mark-up Language formatted file.

The technical conference will be held on March 26, 2014 at FERC headquarters from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EST).  The technical conference will also be available via webcast on FERC’s website.  Attendees are not required to register for the technical conference, but preregistration is encouraged.  Attendees, in person or online, may also submit questions before or during the technical conference via email.  All questions should be submitted to: eqr@ferc.gov and specify “EQR Questions for Mar 26 Conference” in the subject line.
